Sam Tanzer

Sam Tanzer is a Partner at Perella Weinberg. Based in New York, he focuses on advising companies, sponsors and creditors in connection with a wide range of matters including capital solutions, capital structure optimization, liability management and restructuring.

During his tenure at Perella Weinberg, Mr. Tanzer has worked with companies across a wide range of industries including Software, Telecom, Oil & Gas, Refining, Power / Utilities, Broadcasting, Industrials, and Chemicals.

Recent corporate representations include advising Zayo Group Holdings on its comprehensive $14 billion capital structure extension and financing, DigiCert on its $2.2 billion privately placed term loan, the E.W. Scripps Company on its extension of $1.5 billion of debt maturities, and Xplore on its drop-down and comprehensive de-leveraging transaction.

Creditor representations include Algeco Scotsman, Breitburn Energy Partners, Chesapeake Energy, GPD Companies, iHeart Communications, Limetree Bay, Mitel Networks, MRP Solutions, NGL Energy Partners, Oregon Tool, DISH Network Corporation, Proserv, Rockdale Marcellus, Sinclair Broadcast Group, Trinseo, Talen Energy, and West Marine.

Prior to joining Perella Weinberg in July of 2012, Mr. Tanzer was at Applied Predictive Technologies from 2007 to 2010, where he served as an Engagement Manager responsible for leading strategy consulting engagements with national retailers, restaurants, and banks, and designing predictive analytics software.

Mr. Tanzer received a BA in English from Stanford University and an MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
