Serdj Balach is an Executive Director at Perella Weinberg Partners.  He focuses on advising clients in the industrial sector with a particular focus on the chemicals space.

Mr. Balach has more than a decade of investment banking experience, assisting chemical and industrial companies on a wide range of strategic matters. His selected transaction experience includes advising Ashland on the divestiture of its Composites business and the BDO plant in Marl, Germany; FMC on the acquisition of a significant portion of DuPont’s Crop Protection business simultaneous with the sale of its Health and Nutrition business to DuPont; 3M on its acquisition of Scott Safety from Johnson Controls; Ashland on the carve-out IPO and subsequent spin-off of Valvoline; Sherwin-Williams on the acquisition of Valspar; Blackstone on the sale of AVINTIV; Eastman on its acquisition of Taminco; Ashland on the sale of its Water Technologies business and activist defense against JANA Partners; Eastman on the acquisition of Solutia.

Prior to joining Perella Weinberg Partners in January of 2020, Mr. Balach spent a decade at Citigroup Global Markets, Inc. in roles of increasing responsibility. He most recently served as a Director in Citi’s Global Industrials Group and was a member of its Global Chemicals coverage team based in New York. Before attending graduate school, Mr. Balach was a consultant in the Mergers and Acquisitions strategy practice at Accenture and an analyst at Archstone Consulting.

Mr. Balach holds a B.A in Economics and Political Science from Northwestern University and an M.B.A from the University of Virginia Darden School of Business.
