Mike Genereux is a Partner at Perella Weinberg Partners, joining the firm in 2020. He has worked on a wide range of restructuring and special situation assignments for companies, ad hoc creditor groups, official creditor committees, corporate board committees, and acquirers and sellers of distressed assets.

Mike has 25 years of investment banking experience. He was most recently a Partner at PJT Partners for four years and served on the firm’s Management Committee, and before that he worked at Blackstone for thirteen years as a Senior Managing Director. Prior to that, Mike worked at Credit Suisse First Boston, Merrill Lynch & Co, Barclays, PepsiCo, and Price Waterhouse.

Notable restructuring assignments include American Tire, Aspect Software, Avaya, BCBGMAXAZRIA, Caesars Entertainment, CHC Helicopter, Delta Air Lines, Dynegy, Eastman Kodak, Edison Mission Energy, Fieldwood Energy, First Energy, GateHouse Media, Global A&T Electronics, Hawker Beechcraft, Hostess Brands, M*Modal, Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation re. Sears and United Airlines, Rex Energy, Savers, SeaDrill Partners, Station Casinos, Sungard AS, Synchronoss, Vantage Drilling, and 21st Century Oncology.

He received a BS from Wake Forest University, where he is on the Board of Visitors for the Business School, and an MBA from the Graduate School of Business at Columbia University. In 2018, he was named a Fellow of the American College of Bankruptcy.
