John Messina

Managing Director, Advisory

Mr. Messina is a Managing Director in Perella Weinberg Partners’ Advisory business based in the Chicago office.  He focuses on advising clients in the Industrials sector.

Mr. Messina has more than 16 years of investment banking experience assisting companies on a wide range of strategic matters.  Prior to joining Perella Weinberg Partners in January of 2018, Mr. Messina was at PwC Corporate Finance as a Director advising companies in the Industrial Products sector on mergers and acquisitions transactions.  He was previously at Citigroup from 2001 to 2015, most recently as a Director in the Global Industrials Group focused on metals & mining, advising a global client base on mergers and acquisitions and capital raising transactions.

At PwC Corporate Finance and Citigroup, he actively worked with clients, including advising Material Handling Systems on its sale to Thomas H. Lee Partners, Severstal on the sale of its US-based steel mills to AK Steel and Steel Dynamics, Alcoa on its acquisition of TransDigm’s fastener business and Norsk Hydro on its acquisition of Vale’s aluminum assets.

Mr. Messina earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Systems Engineering from the University of Virginia.
