Hamish Summerfield

Hamish Summerfield is a Partner at Perella Weinberg. Based in New York, Mr. Summerfield focuses on advising clients across the Financial Services sector, with a particular focus on asset management clients globally.

Mr. Summerfield has more than 30 years of experience advising financial services clients in investment banking. He was previously a Managing Director and Head of Global Asset Management, investment banking, at Citi for 7 years and prior to that spent 12 years at Credit Suisse. Prior to joining Credit Suisse, Mr. Summerfield worked at Putnam Lovell, the independent asset management M&A boutique, for over 7 years. He began his investment banking career at Schroders in London.

As a trusted and leading senior advisor, Mr. Summerfield’s strong track record spans many of the sector’s most significant transactions, from landmark mergers and acquisitions to marquee IPOs. Representative transactions include advising BlackRock on its $15.2 billion acquisition of Barclays Global Investors (subsequently iShares),  Janus on its contested $7.4 billion take private transaction with Trian and General catalyst, SoftBank on its $4 billion acquisition of DigitalBridge, Aberdeen Asset Management on its $14 billion merger with Standard Life, Apollo on its $1.5 billion acquisition of Bridge Investment Group, Franklin Templeton on its $1.8 billion acquisition of Lexington Partners, AllianceBernstein on its acquisition of CarVal Investors, BlueOwl on its acquisition of Atalaya Capital Management, and WisdomTree on its acquisition of ETF Securities.

Mr. Summerfield holds a BSc Honors in Mathematics and Economics from Nottingham University and is a qualified chartered accountant.
