Jonathan Tyler

Managing Director, Advisory

Jonathan Tyler serves as Managing Director in Investment Banking.  He has worked across the global chemical industry (together with the associated areas of cleantech and healthcare) for over 20 years.  Jonathan started his career as an equity research analyst at firms including Goldman Sachs and Bear Stearns.  He was highly ranked in most major investor surveys for original and creative thinking, and worked on numerous IPOs, including Syngenta (now ChemChina), Rhodia (Solvay) and Ciba (BASF).  Jonathan then moved over to the advisory side working on both M&A and restructuring transactions.  During the financial crisis, he originated and worked on financial restructurings involving INEOS, LyondellBasell, Chemtura and PolymerLatex (now Synthomer).  In 2019, he worked on the Hexion restructuring at Perella Weinberg.  Jonathan supported the Dow management team as an expert witness in the Rohm & Haas vs Dow Court case in the US.  He has worked on M&A transactions from the bolt-on to the transformation, an example of the latter being the combination of Georgia Gulf and PPG’s chloro-alkali activities to form Axiall, before its subsequent acquisition by Westlake.

Mr. Tyler is a graduate of Imperial College London (Chemistry) and also holds a master’s degree from London Business School.
